1. This rebuild holds 2,138 provider filings across 56 states and territories and 10 technologies (60,659,227 census-block records).
2. Satellite accounts for 53.2% of every deployment record (32,267,766 of 60,659,227). That is reported census-block availability, not subscribers.
3. Fiber is 4.3% of the national record mix. A high advertised speed on a state page is not the same as a high fiber share.
4. Among the 50 states plus D.C., fiber share of records runs from Maine at 1.0% to North Dakota at 17.9%.
5. American Samoa files 97.7% fiber on 842 records and 2 providers - a territory grain, not the 50-state leader.
6. 1,651 of 2,138 providers (77.2%) file in a single state. Texas lists the most distinct providers (211).

How these totals are computed

Every figure is an aggregate against PlainBroadband's local SQLite rebuild of the FCC Form 477 fixed broadband deployment file (June 2020 status, the last Form 477 release before the Broadband Data Collection). Provider counts are distinct filers. Technology shares divide each technology's total_records by the national sum. Fiber share on a state row is that state's own record mix, not a current availability map. No headline total is hand-typed.

Territories with tiny record counts (hundreds, not hundreds of thousands) are listed separately from the 50-state-plus-D.C. fiber range so a 97% fiber share on 842 records cannot be misread as the national leader. Full source handling lives on the methodology page.
